A Study of Life Expectancy by Cause Elimination Model


Abstract
The major purpose of this study is to analyse tends of life expectancy which was lost by cause of death. Data used in Cause-Elimination Model are Cause of Death Statistics 1999 by National Statistical Office of Korea.
The major findings may be summarized as follows;
First, The theoretical limit to life expectancy by Cause-Elimination Model is 89.45 for male, and 90.08 for female in 1999.
Second, The effect on life expectancy at birth of eliminating Malignant Neoplasms is 4.86 years for male and 2.51 years for female in 1999.
Eliminating the disease of the circulatory increase life expectancy at birth by 3.69 years for male and 3.03 years for female in 1999.
